Jan. 14, 2013
FRESNO, Calif. ---The Fresno State Department of Athletics celebration of National Girls and Women in Sports Day will be on February 9, 2013. In continuing to honor the past, present and future of women's athletics at Fresno State, the day will include a youth clinic in the morning, softball contests at 1:30 and 6 PM in addition to a televised Women's Basketball contest against San Diego State at 5 PM.
In honoring the past, the department will continue to reach out and recognize female student-athletes of the 60's, 70's and 80's who have not been honored at past NGWS events. That recognition will begin with the honorees and returnees hosted at a pregame reception and move to the public recognition of the honorees at half time of the women's basketball contest.
We welcome the community to support the programs on that day and join in celebrating the efforts and accomplishments of our present female student-athletes and those that competed for the institution in the past.
For information on the youth clinic (8th grade and under/registration required/attendance is limited) contact Christina Roybal at email@example.com
If you are a former female student-athlete from the 60's, 70' or 80's and have not received an invitation please contact Judy Lea at firstname.lastname@example.org for more information.
