Senior Katharina Winterhalter has been named the Toyota/www.gobulldogs.com Athlete of the Week for Apr. 11. The honor is her third of the season (second individually and earler this year she joined Lucia Sainz as co-winners of the award).

Winterhalter became only the third women's tennis player in school history to record 100 career singles victories. She beat Loyola Marymount's Sladjana Kos 6-3, 5-7, (10-8) after being down 8-4 in the super-tiebreaker to capture her 100th victory.

She earned a No. 96 ranking last week, going 4-0 in singles and 3-1 in doubles. In singles, she improved to 22-8 overall and 15-5 in dual matches. In doubles she owns a 31-8 overall mark with a 15-5 dual match record.

As of Apr. 11, Winterhalter needs only three singles victories to pass Liesl Fichtbauer (No. 2 all-time) in the school record books.

Also nominated: Andy Underwood (baseball), Laura Luethke (women's golf), Jakub Cech (men's tennis), Mallory Webb (women's track and field).
