Bulldogs Recognized For Efforts in Classroom
June 23, 2008 FRESNO, Calif. - Fresno State student-athletes continue to be recognized for their performances in the classroom. Between the winter and spring sports there were 42 Bulldogs named to the WAC All-Academic Team. There were also 31 Fresno State freshmen and transfer students who were named to the WAC All-Academic Team for newcomers. Fresno State has now produced 845 Academic All-WAC performers through the years. The Bulldog women's tennis team had the most honorees for its sport with seven while the women's golf team had the second most honorees with four student-athletes being recognized. To be eligible, a student-athlete must have completed at least one academic year, have at least a 3.0 cumulative grade point average and have participated in at least 50 percent of the team's contests.
