FRESNO, Calif. - With Fresno State's season opener at Rutgers just days away, it has been announced that fans from all over northern California and the Central Valley will be able to hear Fresno State games on the radio.

KMJ 580, a 50,000 watt signal that serves more California counties than any other California radio station, will continue to be the flagship station for Fresno State football, men's basketball and baseball but now Learfield Sports/Bulldog Sports Properties have announced radio affiliates in Merced, Salinas and Bakersfield.

"Growing the radio network has been a goal of this administration, we are excited to make this announcement," associate athletics director Paul Ladwig said. "Adding these quality radio stations in these markets is tremendous for all Bulldog fans. Having the partnership with Learfield and KMJ brought this project together and we will continue to grow both and radio and TV networks."

KYOS 1480 AM, a 5,000-watt News/Talk station in Merced will carry live football broadcasts, the Pat Hill Show and a Fresno State daily update.
