FRESNO, Calif. - There's nothing like a college football Saturday. Fans and alumni will gather to renew friendships, wear their colors and cheer on their school.

From the smells of a tailgate barbeque, to the sights and sounds of the spirit squad and band, to the roar of wildly pounding thundersticks, fans from all over America begin a wonderful ritual this weekend. College football season is here.

This wonderful tradition at Fresno State involves the color red. Lots of red!

  • Red t-shirts, sweatshirts and jackets.
  • Faces and various body parts painted red.
  • The Bulldogs pouring down the ramp in their all red uniforms and helmet.
  • Red seats and chairbacks
  • The red checkerboard endzone in Bulldog Stadium.

But Fresno State is more than the Red Wave. There are many special events planned for the 2007 season opener at Bulldogs Stadium. Here are some of the activities for fans this Saturday when the Dogs host Sacramento State.
