Ed Nordenschild returns for his second year as Fresno State's head strength and conditioning coach. His responsibilities include overseeing the weight room, its personnel and the strength and conditioning programs of FS's 10 women's sports, men's basketball and baseball.
Nordenschild came to Fresno State from the University of Texas, where he was the assistant strength and conditioning coach. While there, he was responsible for the Longhorns softball, swimming, track and rowing programs. In softball, he helped build the UT program from its inception in 1995 to a Women's College World Series appearance in 1998. He was also successful working with the track and field program, helping them to indoor and outdoor NCAA titles in 1998.
He graduated from the University of Texas-Arlington in 1993 with a bachelor's degree in interdisciplinary studies. He later earned a master's degree in exercise physiology from the University of Texas in 1995. A member of the National Strength and Conditioning Association and the American College of Sports Medicine, Nordenschild is certified with the National Strength and Conditioning Association and the United States Weightlifting Federation.
Nordenschild is single and resides in Fresno.
