FRESNO, Calif. - The No. 10 top moment in Fresno State Athletics in 2012 was taking home the WAC Commissioner's Cup for the third and final time while in Fresno State's last year in the conference.

After another successful athletic year, Fresno State left the Western Athletic Conference as its most successful program of the last 10 years. For the third time since its inception, the WAC Commissioner's Cup went to the Bulldogs.

The Bulldogs won five championships and placed top three in nine programs during the 2011-12 season to help garner the award. The 'Dogs were the only WAC program to sweep both regular season and tournament championships in multiple sports, women's basketball and men's tennis.

Given to the institution who performs the best in each of the WAC's 19 sports, the Commissioner's Cup has been around since the 2002-03 season. Points are awarded in order of finish, equal to the number of teams that participate in each sport, and are averaged between a team's regular-season finish (if applicable) and its WAC championship finish. Ties are not broken but instead are averaged between the tied teams.

Fresno State has finished top two in the Commissioner's Cup race each of the past five years, owning back-to-back wins 2007-09. Maintaining a dominant presence while in the WAC, the Bulldogs finished its last WAC campaign with 79.75 points to take home the Commissioner's Cup one last time.
