Construction Begins for Meyers Family Sports Medicine Center

The underground construction work has begun for the Meyers Family Sports Medicine Center.


Meyers Family Sports Medicine Center Ceremonial Groundbreaking

Fresno State held a ceremonial groundbreaking of a 10,000-square foot, state-of-the-art Meyers Family Sports Medicine Center before Friday's home football game.

Kelli Eberlein enters her third season as Fresno State's head women's athletic trainer. This will be her first year with the women's basketball program.

During her first two seasons, Eberlein was primarily responsible for the care and prevention of injuries for the volleyball program while also overseeing softball, women's basketball, women's tennis and equestrian. Eberlein also will provide secondary coverage for softball, men's tennis and equestrian this year.

Eberlein comes to Fresno State after serving as assistant athletic trainer at Oregon State during the previous five years. While at Oregon State, Eberlein was responsible for the care and prevention of injuries for women's basketball, softball and women's soccer. She also served as a clinical coordinator and was involved in the organization of athletic department summer camp coverage.

Prior to her appointment as assistant athletic trainer, she served as a doctoral graduate assistant from 1997-1998 at OSU where she was mainly involved with women's soccer. Eberlein also worked with the XCEL Orthopedic Physical Therapy Clinic as a physical therapy aide from 1996-1997.

Eberlein earned her bachelor of science degree from Fresno State in physical education/athletic training in 1993. During her two years as a student athletic trainer with the Bulldogs, Eberlein worked specifically with football and track and field.

Having served as a graduate assistant at Cal State Bakersfield in which she earned her master of arts degree in 1996, Eberlein was responsible for providing athletic training services for 10 men's and women's programs. She also supervised the training room and assisted staff trainers with certified athletic trainer coverage for all sports.

Eberlein is a member of the National Athletic Trainers' Association (NATA), American Red Cross and is certified in First Aid and CPR.
