Michael Boele served as Fresno State's Special Consultant for Athletics Programming in early 2015.
Boele had previously served as a senior associate athletics director for administration and Fresno State's senior woman administrator from August 2013 to early 2015.
Boele spent time in the Athletics Departments in a variety of roles. She provided the administrative oversight of the department's financial operation; and the department's Chief Equity Officer; and directly supervised several sport programs.
"During the search process Michael demonstrated keen insight into the nuances of this position and continually exhibited great energy and enthusiasm regarding Fresno State Athletics," Thomas Boeh said. "She has a strong background in business operations, ranging from managing the athletic department budget to working with departmental and campus colleagues regarding a wide variety of complex issues, strategic planning and special projects. Michael will be a tremendous addition to our management team and we look forward to her many contributions in the years ahead."
Boele came to Fresno State after spending the past six seasons at Florida Atlantic University where she was the Associate Director of Athletics in charge of business and finance.
At FAU, Boele was responsible for preparation and management of the Owls' $26 million intercollegiate athletics budget. As a part of her role, she worked closely with the head coaches on budget development and budget management while also overseeing the ticket office.
Boele also worked with the head football coach at FAU, overseeing all budgetary aspects of the program, securing charter flights, hotel contracts and served on the advancement team.
Prior to her time at Florida Atlantic, she spent six seasons at the University of North Florida where she was the first business manager in UNF history. Along with managing North Florida's budget, she was responsible for a number of initiatives that furthered the athletic program, including serving on the reclassification team that was responsible for implementing UNF's strategic plan to move to Division I.
Boele also comes to Fresno State with well-rounded experience. In addition to her sport supervision at multiple institutions, she also served as the ticket manager for three seasons at Drake University (1998-01) and was the Media Relations Director (1997-98) for the Orlando Wahoos, a women's professional softball team.
She has been an active member of the College Athletic Business Management Association (CABMA) for the past 12 years and was a member of the National Association of Collegiate Women Athletics Administrators (NACWAA) from 2005-07.
A native of Chicago, Ill., Boele received her bachelor's degree in exercise science with a specialty in sports management from the University of Florida in 1995. She and her husband, Gerrit, have two sons, Jacob (15) and Joshua (13).
