Mosher Retiring After Distinguished Career

Betsy Mosher, Fresno State's Deputy Director of Athletics and Senior Woman Administrator, is retiring after nearly eight years at Fresno State to complete a distinguished career in intercollegiate athletics.

Steve Robertello has served as the department's Deputy Director of Athletics with day-to-day oversight of athletic operations, sport administration and student-athlete services since early 2015.

Robertello was appointed as Co-Interim Director of Athletics from Aug. 12, 2014 to Dec. 31, 2014, when he was responsible for all daily athletic operations, sports administration and student-athlete services.

Robertello previously served as the Senior Associate Athletics Director for Intercollegiate Services with significant sport supervision and student-athlete welfare responsibilities.

Robertello originally joined the Fresno State Department of Athletics in Dec. 2012 as the Associate Athletics Director of Intercollegiate Services. After serving in that role for one year, Robertello was promoted to Senior Associate Athletics Director for Intercollegiate Services.

In his previous role, Robertello had sport supervision responsibilities for men's and women's basketball, men's and women's tennis, baseball, softball, women's soccer and women's volleyball. He also oversees the branches of compliance, student-athlete services, sports medicine and strength and conditioning. During the past year at Fresno State, he has helped initiate several projects in these select areas that have positively impacted the Bulldog student-athlete experience.

With his leadership, the Fruits, Nuts and Bagels (FNB) program was initiated as part of the student-athlete lounge as a program designated to provide healthy snacks to Fresno State student-athletes. Robertello also led in the renovations to improve both student-athlete services (Ricchiuti) building and the strength and conditioning building. He has also been instrumental in the creation and implementation of the department's training table, which is available for all student-athletes.

Robertello, a graduate of West Virginia University, directly oversees the branches of compliance, student-athlete services, sports medicine and strength and conditioning.

For the past 10 years, Robertello had worked at Washington State University. Most recently he served as the Associate Director of Athletics/Compliance in Pullman where he directed the day-to-day operations of the WSU Athletics Compliance Office. Robertello served as a member of the WSU Athletics Department Executive Staff, as well as the Athletics Department liaison to the WSU Admissions Office.

At the conference level, Robertello served on the Pac-12 Conference Legislative Committee and Recruiting Task Force. For the NCAA, he served on the Amateurism Fact-Finding Committee as a member (2008-12) and committee chair (2010-12) and was the NCAA Site Coordinator for the 2005 NCAA Men's Tennis Championships first and second rounds.

Prior to WSU, Robertello spent two and a half years as a Compliance Coordinator at Arizona State University, two years as an Athletics Compliance Office Assistant, and Assistant Director of Compliance at Villanova University and one year as a Athletic Compliance Office Graduate Assistant at West Virginia University.

Robertello graduated from West Virginia with a Master's of Science in Sport Management and Bachelor of Science. Steve and his wife, Kimberly, have two daughters, Ava and Ashley.
