Danny White was appointed to the position of Associate Athletics Director for Development on July 2, 2007. He oversees all aspects of the Bulldog Foundation including annual giving and season tickets, but primarily focuses on major gift fundraising. White supervised Men's and Women's Track and Field and Cross Country during the 2007-2008 campaign, and now supervises the Men's and Women's Golf and Volleyball programs. Since his arrival the Bulldog Foundation has been aggressively restructured in order to fully integrate philanthropy and major gifts fundraising. As a result, 2008 was a record breaking year in many respects as philanthropic giving rose to levels never seen before at Fresno State. Most notably, the Bulldogs received the highest ($2 Million) and the second highest ($1.5 Million) gifts in department history. He launched a new program, Team Fresno State, focusing on community partnerships in creating a stronger San Joaquin Valley through the continued growth of Fresno State Athletics. Valley organizations (2 currently) donate $250,000 annually in support of the Bulldogs. Prior to Fresno State, White served as the Assistant Athletics Director for Development at Northern Illinois University. He directed the Huskie Athletic Scholarship Fund to record breaking results as annual donations in 2006-2007 exceeded $1 million for the first time ever. White was also a key contributor to the completion of a $14 million privately funded Academic and Athletic Performance Center. Prior to Northern Illinois, White served as a Development Associate at the University of Mississippi, launching a new courtside seating program for men's and women's basketball that generated more than $100,000 in new annual revenue. He also assisted in the coordination of a $10 million annual fund and the organization and planning of a $17 million baseball stadium expansion. White began his professional career at Ohio University, where he served as Director of Basketball Operations before becoming an Assistant Men's Basketball Coach. White received his bachelor's degree in Business Administration from Notre Dame in 2002 as well as an MBA (Business Administration) and MSA (Sports Administration) from Ohio in 2004 and 2005 respectively. During his intercollegiate athletic career, White played basketball at Towson University prior to transferring to the University of Notre Dame, where he was a member of the 2002 team that advanced to the NCAA Tournament. White serves as the Western Athletic Conference (WAC) representative to the National Association of Athletic Development Directors (NAADD). He and his wife, Shawn, have two children: Aidan (4) and Molly (1). |
