Bulldog Bones
• Junior Bego Faz Davalos ranks in the top 15 in the NCAA in six stat categories. The 6-foot-3 center ranks fourth in the country in blocks per game (3.6) and total blocks (93), fourth in triple-doubles (1) seventh in double-doubles (16), 11th in total rebounds (285) and 11th in rebounds per game (11.0).
• Faz Davalos' 16 double-doubles is two more than previous single-season program record which she set during the 2015-16 season, and she is currently four shy of tying the Mountain West record.
• Faz Davalos is one of seven players in the NCAA to average at least 14 points and 11 rebounds.
• Faz Davalos leads the Bulldogs in rebounds (11.0) and blocks (3.6), and is second in points (14.6), assists (2.0) and steals (1.5).
• Sophomore Candice White is first on the team in points (15.0), and second in steals (1.5) and rebounds (5.5).
• White knocked down a career-high five 3-pointers (5-of-9) on Feb. 15, the most since Alex Furr hit six on Nov. 27, 2015. The career night was part of a season-high 10 made 3-pointers for the Bulldogs.
• In the Bulldogs seven conference wins, the team has outscored opponents by 94 points during the second half and 59 during just the third quarter.
• Fresno State is 11th nationally in least committed fouls. The 'Dogs commit just 13.5 personal fouls per game.
• On Feb. 9, Bego Faz Davalos and Candice White were announced as CoSIDA Academic All-District 8 selections. They were two of the district team's six selections and two of 43 nationally to make all-district teams.
• Bego Faz Davalos is closing in on becoming the 23rd player in Fresno State history to join the 1,000-point club. The junior is 22 points shy of 1,000 points.
Series history with San Diego State
• San Diego State holds a 27-18 advantage in the all-time series.
• Fresno State is 9-12 at home against SDSU.
• The 'Dogs are 7-3 against the Aztecs since joining the Mountain West.
• Fresno State has won 11 of the last 15 games in the series.
• During the last three seasons, games between Fresno State and San Diego State have been a low-scoring affair with teams scoring no more than 59 points in regulation. Last year's contest in San Diego was 44-44 through regulation.
A look at San Diego State
• San Diego State enters Saturday's game 9-15 overall and 4-9 in Mountain West play after dropping seven of its last eight games.
• SDSU's lone win since mid-January came on Feb. 15 versus Utah State (66-59).
• While the Aztecs are just 1-9 away from Viejas Arena this season. SDSU has been outscored by 12.9 points per game on the road.
• San Diego State's offense this season, again, runs through point guard McKynzie Fort who ranks second the league in scoring with 16.0 points per game.
• Washington transfer, and one time Fresno State commit, Khalia Lark joins Fort in double digits at 10.1 points per game since becoming eligible for the second half of the season.
• The Aztecs 3-point offense has played a key role in determining wins and losses this season. Twelve of their 15 losses have come when they make seven or less 3-pointers. Eight or more has resulted in a 5-3 record.
• SDSU's top threats beyond the arc have been Kymberly Ellison and Lexy Thorderson who both rank in the top three of the MW in 3-pointers made per game with Thorderson at 2.5 and Ellison at 2.2. In conference play, Thorderson has increased her average to 3.2 per game.
Closing in on 1,000
• With 22 points, junior Bego Faz Davalos will hit the 1,000-point milestone for her career.
• Faz Davalos will be the 23rd player in Fresno State history to record 1,000 points, and the first since Alex Sheedy in 2015.
Dynamic duo
• Fresno State's offense has been led this year by the duo of junior Bego Faz Davalos and sophomore Candice White. The two are averaging a combined 29.6 points per game, nearly half of the team's total offense.
• The two rank as the third-highest scoring duo in the Mountain West behind San Jose State's Dezz Ramos and Jasmine Smith (34.3) and New Mexico's Cherise Beynon and Richelle Van Der Keijl (29.9).
• The Bulldogs are 13-6 on the year when both score in double figures, but are 1-5 when one or both does not hit the mark.
Chasing 60
• With the strength of Jaime White's teams being on the defensive side of the ball, a benchmark for its offense has been to score 60 points. Under White, Fresno State has won 71.9 percent of those games (41-16). The Bulldogs' record when scoring between 60-69 points is 26-13.
• This season, the 'Dogs are 12-3 when scoring more than 60 points.
Holding teams down
• The Bulldogs have held its opponents to 60 points or less in 11 of its 14 wins.
• Only three teams have scored more than 70 points against the 'Dogs this season (Washington, 85; New Mexico 80; San Jose State 77 and 74). Fresno State allowed four teams to score at least 80 points during the 2015-16 season. All four games resulted in losses. Washington scored the most of any Bulldog opponent that season (89).
Breaking 3-point curse
• During the past two seasons, Fresno State has struggled in the win column when making six or more 3-pointers. The Bulldogs' record in such games during the first two seasons under Jaime White was 10-11.
• The 'Dogs have seemingly reversed the trend this year by holding a 8-4 record when knocking down at least six 3's, with three of those losses coming in the team's last three games.
Erasing deficits
• Heading into its last game of nonconference play, Fresno State was 0-3 when trailing at the half. The Bulldogs reversed that trend at Weber State, turning a six-point halftime deficit into a three-point win.
• Fresno State is 6-6 when trailing at the half since the Weber State contest and is 18-21 under Jaime White.
• Since the start of conference play, Fresno State has outscored its opponents by 61 points in the third quarter (+4.1).
• Against Nevada (Jan. 21), Fresno State outscored the Wolf Pack by 22 in the second half, its largest margin in a second half versus a Division I opponent since Washington State on Nov. 30, 2012 (+27).
Same player, new year
• It may be another year but junior Bego Faz Davalos hadn't seen a drop off from last year. Through 24 games, the center's numbers are on par from last season as she is averaging 14.6 points, 11.0 rebounds, 3.6 blocks, 2.0 assists and 1.5 steals.
• Faz Davalos leads the Bulldogs in rebounds, blocks, and is second in points, assists and steals.
• She has recorded at least four blocked shots in 11 games this season.
• In conference, Faz Davalos ranks first in rebounding (11.0) and blocks (3.6), second in offensive rebounds (3.8) and defensive rebounds (7.2), third in field-goal percentage (.531), seventh in scoring (14.6) and eighth in steals (1.5).
Doubling up
• She ranks third nationally in double-doubles with 16 and is second in program history with 32.
• With 16 double-doubles this season, she set a new single-season program record, breaking her own which she set during the 2015-16 season with 14.
• Faz Davalos is nearing the Mountain West single-season record which sits at 20 by Linda Froehlich of UNLV (1999-2000).
Time to shine
• After playing in 11 games as a freshman, and logging 6.3 minutes per game, Candice White leads team in minutes (33.7) and points (15.0), and is second in rebounds (5.5).
• The sophomore also paces the team in steals (1.5) and has swiped three or more steals in seven games, including a career-high five against CSU Dominguez Hills.
• She has reached double figures in scoring in 22 of 26 games.
• White has recorded four of the team's 11 20-point scoring performances this season, including a career-high 25 points at Nevada and 21-point games versus UC Irvine and CSU Dominguez Hills.
• The 25-point effort (9-of-13) was the most points by a Bulldog since Alex Sheedy scored 25 points against Wyoming on Feb. 25, 2015.
• In conference, White ranks first in free-throw percentage (.880), fifth in 3-point percentage (.393) and 3-point field goals made per game (2.1), sixth in scoring (15.0), seventh in minutes played (33.7), eighth in steals (1.5) and 11th in field-goal percentage (.450).
Taking charity
• Prior to missing three free throws versus CSU Dominguez Hills, sophomore Candice White ranked fourth nationally in free-throw percentage. She is currently No. 16 at 88.0 percent (73-of-83).
• White opened the season with 18 consecutive free throws which is the most on record to start a season by a Bulldog dating back to the 1983-84 season. Records are not available prior to the 1983-84 season.
• Still with six regular-season games remaining, in site for White is Jessie Farias' single-season school record for free-throw percentage which stands at 86.5 percent.
• Long term is Staci Oddo's career record at 81.7 percent (min. 160 attempts). White currently sits at 86.8 percent with just over half of the minimum required attempts.
Sparking the offense
• Despite not making a field goal in her Bulldog debut, freshman Kristina Cavey displayed her potential impact against Utah (Nov. 15) as she recorded 11 points and seven rebounds in 22 minutes off of the bench. She has since posted three more double-digit performances.
• On the year, Cavey is averaging 4.8 points per game, shooting 40.7 percent from the field and 32.6 percent from 3 but her production has gone up in conference play with increased playing time.
• Since Breanne Knishka's season-ending injury, the freshman has stepped up, scoring 6.2 points on 32-of-73 (43.8 percent) shooting from the field and is 10-of-28 (35.7 percent) from 3 during the last 13 games.
• In her first-career start, the freshman recorded seven points, eight assists, two rebounds, two blocks and two steals at The Pit on Feb. 18.
Hoop Club Annual Team Appreciation and Awards Dinner
• Held on Monday, Feb. 27 at 5:30 p.m. at The Belmont Country Club.
