Saturdays are for Fresno State football

COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. – For the second season in a row, the Fresno State football team will host all six home games on Saturdays as announced in part of the Mountain West national television package released on Tuesday for the 2018 season.

Between CBS Sports Network and the ESPN networks, 44 Mountain West football games will be distributed nationally this coming season on various platforms.

Nine of those 44 national television selections involved Fresno State on Tuesday. The Bulldogs will be featured on an ESPN platform seven times next fall and on the CBS Sports Network twice. Three of those nine network selections have set kickoff times, which includes Fresno State's only Friday game, a Mountain West Championship game rematch on the blue turf at Boise State on ESPN2 at 7:15 p.m. PT. The other two kick times announced were Nov. 3 at UNLV (7:30 p.m. PT) and Nov. 17 vs. San Diego State (7:30 p.m. PT).

Kick times and specific outlets for the ESPN Networks games will be determined during the course of the regular season. Meaning ESPN must alert the school no less than 12 days before the designated game day what time they will kick off and what platform it will be distributed on (ESPN, ESPN2, ESPNews, ESPNU or ESPN3).

Tuesday's announcement is the first of several announcements in the coming months regarding telecasts and kick times with various MW television partners. Additional broadcasts by AT&T SportsNet, Spectrum Sports (Hawai'i) and Stadium will be announced in the coming months. But none of the additional selections associated with the Mountain West will have the ability to change the date of the game. Fresno State will have to wait on the decision on game day and kick times with its two nonconference road games from the Big Ten and Pac-12, respectively.

Additionally, by virtue of no television selection at this time for Fresno State's home opener on Sept. 1 against Idaho, the Fresno State Athletics department set the kickoff time for 7 p.m. PT. A MW television partner still has the ability to add the game, therefore the time is subject to change.
