Fresno State Baseball will celebrate its four seniors in this weekend's final home series against UNLV this weekend (May 17-19).
FRESNO, Calif - The second senior to be introduced before Senior Day on Saturday is Torin Goldstein. The senior ceremony is slated to begin before the first pitch of Saturday's contest against UNLV.
The Irvine, Calif. native has been with Fresno State for five years after utilizing his redshirt season as a freshman in 2014. In his first active season with the 'Dogs, Goldstein appeared in 14 games with a pair of starts at designated hitter. The redshirt freshman smacked six hits in 16 at-bats for a .375 average. Goldstein helped the Bulldogs to a 15-7 win over San Diego State in the 2015 Mountain West tournament with a three-run RBI double down the left field line.
The 2016 season was cut short for Goldstein as he appeared in 20 games before a season-ending injury sidelined him finishing the season with six hits and four RBIs.
Goldstein returned his junior season with 16 appearances and one start as designated hitter. The junior picked up three hits in 14 at-bats, drove in six RBIs and scored four runs with his first two career home runs at Nevada (April 23) and at UNLV (May 5).
Goldstein has started 12 games for the 'Dogs this season, primarily at first base and designated hitter, while in 34 games. In 81 at-bats, Goldstein has knocked 31 hits and drove in 17 RBIs while scoring nine runs. He has knocked six doubles and one home run for a career-high .383 average on the year. On the diamond, Goldstein has a perfect 1.000 fielding mark with 65 putouts and six assists.
Entering this weekend, Goldstein has appeared in 84 career games collecting 46 hits in 139 at-bats while scoring 14 runs, driving in 32 RBIs, smacked seven doubles and three home runs and has teamed up with fellow fifth-year senior Nick Warren to have 80 different Bulldog teammates over their five-year careers at Fresno State.
Goldstein met with GoBulldogs.com to touch on his experience while in a Bulldog uniform.
