Requests for Autographed Items
Items that have been pre-purchased may not be left for autographing or signature within Fresno State Athletics. Requests can no longer be accepted by The Bulldog Foundation, FS Athletics administration, FS Athletics ticket office, individual coaches' offices or any other athletics department office. All memorabilia items and autographed items -- including those for non-profit/charitable purposes -- should be procured by visiting The Bulldog Shop in person. The Bulldog Shop is the Official Merchandise Store of the Fresno State Athletics Department. The Bulldog Shop will feature items autographed by coaches. All items are subject to availability.
Why is FS Athletics Moving to this Procedure? NCAA Compliance Issues and Time Saving: The exclusivity of autographed items is protected when the items are offered at retail. The Bulldog Shop offers items only as long as the supply lasts. Coach-signed items are now supplied directly to The Bulldog Shop in a supply number based upon the number of requests fulfilled in previous years. The Bulldog Shop permits non-profit organizations and charities to return to the stores items that fail to be auctioned at prescribed rates. This eliminates all risk for the charities and non-profits and the individuals who procure the items at retail.
Paperwork Overload: Items acquired at retail require no tracking of use. This allows time saving for customers since individuals no longer have to pre-purchase an item, complete a FS Athletics Promotional Waiver form describing intended use of the item, drive or mail/ship the item to campus, and then return to campus to pick up the item. Our patrons have complained about having a difficult time completing all of these processes in a timely manner.
NCAA Rules: Student-athlete autographed items far too often have ended up on outside auction sites. This causes time-consuming issues for athletics compliance officers across the nation. No longer may student-athletes sign autographs unless this occurs at formal Fan Appreciation Days and designated team autograph days. Items signed by student-athletes may only be personalized items (signed specifically to the name of the person requesting).
Forgeries: FS Athletics and The Bulldog Shop retail outlets are taking the lead in protecting Bulldogs fans from becoming victims of fraudulent memorabilia sales. Customers are guaranteed that all items purchased through The Bulldog Shop outlets are provided directly from FS Athletics at fair market prices. Nearly all auctions and charities are trying to raise money legitimately and for good causes. However, FS Athletics is obligated to protect the names and images of Bulldog coaches and student-athletes.
Requests for Donations
Donation requests are regulated by FS Athletics Compliance staff in coordination with the Associate Athletics Director for Broadcasting and External Relations. Due to the department's policy, FS Athletics can no longer donate any merchandise items to any organization. However, FS Athletics may donate tickets (pending availability) if an organization meets certain requirements: 1) The organization must be one of the following groups: non-profit, charitable, educational, or institutional; 2) The organization submits its request to the department four weeks before the tickets are needed for the event; 3) In compliance with NCAA rules and bylaws, the tickets are not to directly or indirectly benefit an individual of recruitable age; 4) The organization must be local to the area; and 5) The tickets must be used by the intended organization and cannot be sold.
There are a limited number of tickets that can be donated in a fiscal year (July 1-June 30). Pending approval, tickets will be donated on a first-come, first-served basis. Please download, fill out and submit the FS Athletics Donations Request Form, along with a formal request on the organization's letterhead, to Christina Roybal in the Fresno State Athletics Department by fax at (559) 278-4477 or by mail to 5048 N.
