Junior first baseman Kevin Viers led Fresno State to a 4-0 record for games played March 17-22 with a nonconference victory over nationally-ranked USC and a MW sweep over San Jose State. Starting at first base in all four games, Viers posted a batting average of .562 (9-for-16) with four runs scored, nine runs batted in, one double, one sacrifice hit and three home runs. He had a minimum of two hits in each of the four games and owned a 1.188 slugging percentage.
Against then-ranked No. 8 USC, Viers went 2-for-4 with one double and a career-tying three RBI. Viers followed his career performance in Los Angeles by going 7-for-12 and hitting a home run in each game (3) versus San Jose State at home over the weekend.
