Kyra Johnson was the sole member from the Fresno State track and field team, and one of three athletes from the Mountain West to earn bids in multiple events to the 2015 NCAA Division I Outdoor Track & Field National Championships in Eugene, Ore. last week at the NCAA West Preliminary Rounds in Austin, Texas. Johnson qualified in the 400-meter hurdles, and as a member of the 4x400m relay team. In hurdles, Johnson advanced to Eugene with a 58.36-second time in the quarterfinals, after qualifying in the first round prelims the day before with a 59.41. As a member of the relay team, Johnson helped lead the team to a school record 3:35.34, shattering the previous school record of 3:37.39. The Santa Rosa, Calif. native is an exercise science major at Fresno State.
