2018 (Junior): Earned First-Team All-Mountain West honors as a junior, the lone Bulldog to pick up the honor... finished the season with a 8-2 mark and a 2.84 ERA in 16 appearances and 14 starts while tossing two complete games... added one save against CSUN on May 8 tossing 0.2 innings striking out two... finished with 110 strikeouts on the season in 95.0 innings of work while only allowing 31 walks... held opponents to a .220 average from the plate... posted a 5-2 mark with a 3.73 ERA tossing 63 strikeouts in 62.2 innings of work and held opponents to a .249 average from the plate in 10 MW starts.... the Newark, Calif., native led the MW in strikeouts, tied for first in innings pitched, tied for second in wins and ranked sixth in ERA and opposing batting average in conference games.... made quality starts (six or more innings, three or less earned runs) in six of 10 MW starts and 10 of 14 starts on the season... saved his best start for his final start as a Bulldog tossing a complete game four-hitter against UNLV at home on May 17 allowing one earned run and three walks while striking out seven... threw a 103-pitch complete game against Long Beach State (March 31) limiting the Dirtbags to two hits while striking out 11 in a 2-0 win... also picked up wins against Michigan State (Feb. 17), Houston Baptist (Feb. 24), New Mexico (March 10), Nevada (March 24), at San Diego State (April 21) and at home against Air Force (April 27)... struck out five or more batters in 12 of 14 starts and fanned a career-high 17 against the Houston Baptist (Feb. 24)... struck out 12 against the Falcons in 7.2 innings of work while only allowing three hits and two earned runs.
2017 (Sophomore): Earned Second-Team All-Mountain West honors as a sophomore... ranked fifth on the team with 21 appearances and made seven starts on the season... posted a 6-4 overall record tying for the fourth-most wins in the Mountain West... had the fifth-lowest ERA in the MW (4.83)... started the season in the bullpen notching five saves (tied for fifth in the MW) before moving to a starting role.. tossed 72.2 innings ranking in a tie for 10th in the MW... finished third in the conference in strikeouts with 72... ranked sixth in the MW in opposing batting average holding opponents to a .279 average from the plate... also ranked in the top 10 in the MW in doubles allowed (10), home runs allowed (3rd-6), runs allowed (3rd-42) and hits allowed (7th -75)... tossed a complete game against Nevada in the Mountain West Tournament (May 26) pitching seven innings allowing five hits, five runs and struck out a career-high nine... threw a season-best 7.2 innings against Air Force (April 13) allowing six hits, five earned runs and struck out eight in a 7-5 win.
2016 (Freshman): Gonzalez appeared in 16 games on the mound for the Bulldogs as a freshman... emerged as the 'Dogs third starting pitcher over the course of the season making 15 starts tying for the team lead with Ricky Tyler Thomas & Jimmy Lambert... posted a 2-3 overall record and a 3.97 ERA... ranked third on the team with 56.2 innings pitched and was fourth in strikeouts with 47... held opponents to a .272 batting average and allowed only one home run...picked up his first career win over CSU Bakersfield (Mar. 1) tossing five innings allowing four hits, one earned run and struck out two in a 6-4 win over the Roadrunners... also notched a win over Air Force (Apr. 3) throwing a season-best 5.2 innings allowing no earned runs with five strikeouts
High School: Attended Newark Memorial High School in Newark, Calif... was a four-year letter winner as a pitcher as a Cougar and head coach Phil Castellanos tossing 62 innings and 75 strikeouts in his career... also collected 43 hits, 28 RBI's and 21 runs at the plate.
