Four Bulldogs participated in the LSU NCAA Qualifier Meet in New Orleans, La., today in a last effort to qualify for the upcoming NCAA Indoor Championships taking place this year in Indianapolis, Ind., March 5-6.
Two-time All-American E.J. Jacksons chances are good after the junior sprinter clocked a 6.69 in the 60 meters to win the race. It his second best time of the season and his second provisional qualifying time as well. Jackson clocked his personal best of 6.68 at the WAC Indoor Championships last weekend.
Senior Angela Daigle also ran well as she took third in the 60-meter race recording a personal best of 7.47. Although the mark does not even qualify her provisionally, the Benicia, Calif., native may still have a shot at competing next Friday and Saturday.
And seniors Mike Ward and Chris Jones took second and third, respectively, in the 400 meters with Ward crossing the finish line at a season best 48.08 and Jones finishing the race in 48.38.
More information will be known Mon., March 1, as to who will head to Indianapolis to compete in the NCAA Indoor Championships in one week.
