Last updated on June 22, 2012 Fresno State: 2012 Track (Sophomore): Won the shot put title at the WAC Championships with a mark of 15.53-meters ... set a personal record of 16.18-meters at the Sacramento State MONDO Mid-Major Challenge... named Bulldog of the year and student-athlete of the year at the 2012 Track and Field awards banquet ... earned first place finishes in both the shot put and the weight throw at the indoor WAC Championships ... Qualified for the NCAA Preliminary Round Championship. 2011 Track (Freshman): At the WAC Indoor Championships she took first in the women's weight throw with a toss of 58 ft., 11.50 in. (17.97m,) giving the Bulldogs their first gold medal of the meet ... At the Cal Poly invite she won the shot put with a mark of 44-1.75 (13.46m) ... her performance also ranked fifth-best in the WAC. Prior to Fresno State: Four-year varsity letterwinner in track and field and earned MVP honors all four years...Central Coast Section (CCS) Shot Put Champion in 2009 and 2010...named team captain her junior and senior year...holds the Santa Teresa HS records in the shot put (46-9) and discus (141-5). Personal: Born Dec. 6, 1991 in San Jose, Calif....parents are Anne and Ron McKee...has one younger brother, Erik and one younger sister, Lindsay...is interested in sports of any kind and watching CSI: Las Vegas...her favorite athlete is Bryan Clay because he can do it all...her biggest athletic thrill was throwing her 46-9 in shot put to win CCS and improved her personal best by two feet...most admires her mom and dad for supporting her through all of her academic and athletic endeavors...chose Fresno State because she really admired the coaching staff and it is close to home. |
