Ran the 3000 and 5000 meter races two times each during his sophomore season ... opened his season by winning the 3000 at the Fresno State Twilight with a time of 9:14.71 ... set collegiate-best times in the 3000 (8:46.62, Bulldog Invitational) and the 5000 (15:03.71, Bryan Clay Invitational).
