The Fresno State women's track and field team kicks off the indoor season on Friday at the Save Mart Center.
Fresno State:
2011 Track: Competed in seven outdoor meets for the Bulldogs and three indoor competitions.
2011 Cross Country: Participated in 6 races of the season ... Season best mark in the 5K at the Bronco Invitational with a time of 17:56 ... Also competed in the WAC Championships with a time of 19:46.7 ... Finished her season at the NCAA West Regional in the 6K with 21:43.
Prior to Fresno State: Competed on varsity cross-country at Madera High...was captain her senior year...qualified for the cross country state meet both years...earned the Coaches Award and was a scholar-athlete.
Personal: Born Nov. 14, 1989...parents are Robin and Roger Poythress...has two brothers Kent and Kevin...Kevin is also a member of the Fresno State track and cross-country teams...enjoys cooking and traveling...most admires her parents for their support and great influence.
