Three Bulldogs set new personal records in the first day of competition.

Fresno State:
2012 Outdoor (Sophomore): Competed in six meets and four events ... set personal records in the 3000m (8:43.63) at the Cal Poly Dual Meet on March 10, 5000m (15:11.26) at the Sacramento State MONDO Mid-Major Challenge on April 12 and the 10000m (33:11.50) at the Western Athletic Conference Championships on May 8 ... placed in the 10000m at the WAC Championships and ran the seventh fastest 10000m time in the WAC.
2011 Cross Country (Sophomore): Competed in every race of the season, marking a season best of 25:19 at the Bronco Invitational.
2011 Track (Freshman): Competed in seven meets ... set a personal record in the 1,500-meter race with a time of 3:58.66 March 19 at USC ... ran season-best time of 8:51.29 in the 3,000 meter race on March 12 ... recorded a season-best mark of 15:25.49 in the 5,000 meter race on April 7.
Prior to Fresno State: Competed three-year on the varsity track and field and cross country teams...California State qualifier in cross country...was All Tri-River Conference in cross country...best time in the 800-meter was 1:59 and 4:22 in the 1,600-meter race.
Personal: Born November 20, 1991 in Fresno, Calif....parents are Roger and Robin Poythress...has one brother, Kent and one sister Ann who also competed on the cross country and track and field team at Fresno State...enjoys running, playing basketball and hanging out with friends...most admires his parents.
