SEATTLE - The Fresno State women's track and field team wrapped up the Husky Classic hosted by the University of Washington on Saturday.
Meagan McKee led the Bulldogs in two events, posting an 18.58-meter (60-11.50 feet) mark in the weight throw while competing against some of the nation's best competition in the fourth flight. She finished with the fourth-best throw at the Classic. In the shot put she tossed a 13.69m (44-11.00 feet) throw.
Another notable thrower was Anamanu Folau, Folau exceled in the weight throw with a 17.40m (57-01.00 feet) throw which bested her throw in her last competition at the Air Force Holiday Open in Dec. when she threw for 16.84-meters.
In the sprints, Breeauna Thompson followed her blazing 60-meter time of 7.61 in last weeks Bronco Classic with a 7.62 on Saturday. She owns the seventh-best 60 in the Mountain West.
Carina Mendoza crossed the finish line in the 5000-meter with a time 17:41.58, the seventh-best time run by a member of the Mountain West this season.
Two Bulldog runners bested their times from last week in other distance events. Meagan Paracholski topped her mark she set last week in the 800-meter clocking a time of 2:14.05 while Stella Kubasch topped her mark in the 1-mile with a time of 4:59.87.
The 'Dogs resume action at 8 a.m. tomorrow morning with UW Open which is also held at Dempsey Indoor.
