SEATTLE -- Senior Meagan McKee launched a throw of 19.77m (64 feet, 10.5 inches) on Friday afternoon at the University of Washington Husky Classic to finish second in the weight throw.

The distance gave McKee a new personal-best in the weight throw. Her throw missed the Fresno State school record by two inches. McKee, thanks to her performance yesterday in Seattle, now has the fifth-best distance in the Mountain West this season.

She will have a chance to improve on her throw on Sunday morning at 9:00 a.m., when she competes in the University of Washington Indoor Open.

Teammate Caitlin Byrd finished fifth in the weight throw with a distance of 17.97m (58'11.5"). She is currently ranked 11th in the conference.

On Saturday evening, the Fresno State 4x400 meter relay team of Dezirae Johnson, Kyra Johnson, Melanie Baran and Je'Nia Sears ran a 3:45.15 to finish with the third-best time. They finished second in section two. The time is now the top time in the Mountain West.

Several Fresno State athletes will be back in action on Sunday to compete in the Indoor Open at the University of Washington.
