    UW Indoor Open Results Get Acrobat Reader

    SEATTLE -- The Fresno State women's indoor track and field team wrapped up competition in the Pacific Northwest on Sunday with the University of Washington Indoor Open.

    Caitlin Byrd set a new personal best in the weight throw. The junior from Carson recorded a throw of 18.99m (62 feet, 3.75 inches) to finish second overall. Byrd now has the eighth-best distance in the Mountain West heading into the conference championships.

    Teammate Meagan McKee, a senior who has the fifth-best distance in the weight throw in the Mountain West, won the event. She also finished third in the shot put event.

    Freshman Njeri Omawahleh finished second in her section and third overall in the 400-meter dash with a time of 58.51.

    The Bulldogs will take next weekend off before heading to Colorado Springs, Colo., to compete in the Mountain West Indoor Championships on February 27-March 1.
