Bulldogs Start Outdoors Off Right

BERKELEY, Calif. - The Fresno State track and field team kicked off their 2012 outdoor season in Berkeley, Calif. on Saturday in Edwards Stadium. A number of Bulldogs placed first and posted some new personal records.

Cameron Parker placed first in the 100-meter dash finishing in a time of 10.79 seconds while Devin Harrison placed first in the 200-meter dash finishing in 21.63 seconds. Remington Blair trailed behind Harrison also competing in the 200-meters.

Shane Wilson placed second in the 400-meters with a time of 53.29 and Daniel Williford also placed second in the 400-meter hurdles finishing in 57.04 seconds.

The men's team completed the meet running the 4x400-meter relay. The team placed first blasting through the finish line at 3:20.69. Jordan Walker was the lead leg followed by, Devin Harrison, Brennen Davis, and Emmanuel Jackson as the anchor.

Moving into the field events, in the men's hammer throw Roderick Dash placed first with a toss of 55.14-meters and Gabe Acero placed second throwing 48.50-meters.

Christina Cabias and Derek Oliver both competed in the javelin and both set huge personal records. Cabias threw for 44.42-meters and Oliver heaved 57.63-meters.



Emmanuel Jackson finished first in men's long jump, jumping 6.67m and also took first in the triple jump with a 14.53-meter mark.

The Cal Quad Outdoor Meet marked the first outdoor meet of the season and gave the Bulldogs a positive look on how their pre-season training paid off.
