Men's Track Team Picks Up Three Wins In Debut

By: Matt Burkholder STANFORD, Calif. - The Fresno State Outdoor Track and Field team got its season started on Saturday, picking up three wins at the Stanford Outdoor Opener. Derek Oliver, a senior, won the javelin and set a personal record with a throw of 200'-6.00" (61.12m) to move into No. 8 on Fresno State's all-time list. Junior Devin Harrison picked up a win in the long jump among eight other competitors, registering a distance of 23"-7.50" (7.20m). John Jamieson, a junior, led the pack in the 800-meter, clocking the number one time of 1:53.15. Several personal records were broken on Saturday as Senior Daniel Vartanian set a personal best in the 3000-meter, clocking a time of 8:41.46. Darian Hutson set a PR in the high jump, clearing 6'-7.00" (2.01m) and Brice Sandri set a PR with a distance of 15.05-meters in the shot put.
