SAN LUIS OBISPO, Calif. - The Fresno State men and women's track and field teams completed the Cal Poly/ShareSLO.com Invitational on Saturday with five individual winners and two relay team wins.
On the women's side, junior Meagan McKee won the hammer throw for the 'Dogs with a 172'-07.25" toss, while teammate Nicole Uikilfi finished in second with a distance of 166'-0".
Junior Anamanu Folau was a winner in the discus throw with a distance of 150'-11.25", an improvement of more than 12 feet from last week at the Cal Poly Dual in Fresno.
Senior Breeauna Thompson won the 100-meter dash for the second consecutive week, clocking a time of 12.05 in San Luis Obispo.
The freshman duo of Kyra and Dezirae Johnson had a strong performance in the 800-meter run. Both usually compete in the 400 meters, but each ran the longer distance well, respectively. Dezirae Johnson clocked a time of 2:17.49 while Kyra Johnson trailed just behind, crossing the finish line at 2:17.56.
The women swept the relay runs, posting a time of 46.52 seconds in the 4×100m relay and 3:47.46 in the 4×400m relay.
The men's team had three individual winners on the day. Paired with the women, the `Dogs made a clean sweep of the 100m and discus throw.
Senior Cameron Parker clocked a time of 10.48 seconds in the 100m, his best time since clocking a 10.32 at the Bulldog Invitational on April 30, 2011.
Senior Brice Sandri won the discus throw for the second straight week, posting a mark of 165'-3.25". Last Saturday Sandri set a personal-record with a distance of 167'-6".
A new personal record set this week was by senior Darian Hutson as he won the high jump with a personal best mark of 6'-7.75".
The men's 4×400m relay team found a new strong leg in freshman Devante O'Conner, and the team clocked a time of 3:18.95.
