Bulldogs Set Records at Stanford Invitational

STANFORD, Calif. – The Fresno State men’s and women’s track and field team completed the Stanford Invitational with a few more personal records under its belt on Saturday afternoon.
Nikki Uikiifi won the women’s hammer throw, four throws collegiate, with a 180’-06” (55.02m) throw. She set a personal record on the day breaking a previous mark of 50.96m set just one week ago at the UC Irvine Invitational.
In the men’s throws, Justin Cutler and Joseph Blue took first and second in the shot put, four throw collegiate, respectively. Cutler had a 52’-4.00 (15.95m) throw, while Blue set a new personal record, owning a 51’-3.75” (15.64m) throw. Blue bested a previous PR of 14.53m, set just two weeks ago at the Cal Poly Invite.
Other notable names on Saturday was Michael Jamieson as he set a new personal record in the 800m run. Jamieson ran a 1:51.00 in his final for a second-place overall finish at the Stanford Invitational. His time was just .01 off of the winner from Cal Poly, John Guerrero.
The ‘Dogs faired well in the 200m on both the men’s and women’s side. For the men, Cameron Parker set a personal record with a 21.34 second 200m in the final for a fifth-place overall finish. Breeauna Thompson ran a 24.66 second final on the women’s side to finish 11th out of 39 competitors.
