Men Have Strong Showing in San Fran

FRESNO, Calif. - Three first place finishes highlighted the Fresno State track and field team's showing at the San Francisco State Distance Carnival Friday. The men took the 200-meter, 2-mile and 4x400-meter relay titles.

Junior Jordan Walker and sophomore Brennan Davis each set season-best times in the 200m dash. Walker won the event with a 21.92 mark and Davis finished fourth with a time of 22.70.

Sophomore Carson Keller placed first in his first race of the outdoor season. The Clovis, Calif. native posted a time of 9:29.78 in the 2-mile run, beating the second place finisher by over six seconds.

Sophomore Carina Mendoza finished 12th in the 3000m steeplechase with a season-best time of 11:25.93.

Fresno State participated in only one relay event at the Distance Carnival and the Bulldogs ran away with first place. Walker led the 4x400m team that included Davis, freshman Christopher Brusenback and junior Cameron Parker. The foursome took the event with a time of 3:19.37, defeating Academy of Art by 1.14 seconds.
