FRESNO, Calif. - After getting a weekend at home the Fresno State men's and women's track and field teams will hit the road once again as the 'Dogs travel east for the UNLV Randall Cunningham Invitational on April 12-13.
The two-day invitational gets started Friday with the decathlon and heptathlon. Day one of the decathlon kicks the event off at 11 a.m. and will conclude at approximately 3:30 p.m., while day one of the heptathlon gets started at 12 p.m. and wraps up around 3:15 p.m.
Individually, the men's and women's hammer throw will be the sole event to take place on the opening day. The men get started at 2 p.m. with the women to follow shortly thereafter.
Competition begins on Saturday at 9:30 a.m. with both track and field events starting simultaneously. On the field events side, the women's shot put starts the day and will run till 2:30 p.m. with the men's javelin to conclude the field events. Track events kick off with the women's 3000m steeplechase in the morning and will end with the men's 4x400m relay at 3 p.m.
Day two will also feature the conclusion of the decathlon and heptathlon, the decathlon starts at 11:15 a.m. while the heptathlon gets started at 11:30 a.m. The invitational will close at approximately 5:30 p.m. following the final event of the decathlon.
