    FRESNO, Calif. - The Fresno State men's and women's track and field teams compete at the 53rd Annual Mt. SAC Relays in Walnut, Calif. beginning Thursday, April 14 and running through Saturday, April 16.

    The competition at the Mt. SAC Relays is one of the strongest fields Fresno State will compete against all season, with several different levels competing at the event.

    Blair WAC Athlete of the Week
    Fresno State's Remington Blair was named the Verizon Western Athletic Conference men's outdoor track and field Athlete of the Week, respectively, for the week of April 4-10. Blair, a junior from Reedley, Calif. (Modesto JC), won the 400-meter dash with a time of 47.16 at the Mondo Mid-Major Challenge in Sacramento, Calif., last week. The time leads the WAC and ranks tied for 41st in the nation. He was also a member of the winning 4x400-meter relay that posted the second best time in the WAC this season at 3:14.86.

    Junior Latrisha Jordan took home the 400-meter hurdles title with a time of 1:00.25 and sophomore Breeauna Thompson finished second in the 200-meter dash with a time of 24.55. Sophomore J'Quyra Moncur-Blue won the hammer throw with a distance of 58.61 and Jacqueline Vazquez finished fourth in the javelin throw with a distance of 42.20. In the women's heptathlon, Taylor Jackson finished fourth and Sarah Una'Dia finished fifth.

    On the men's side, junior Remington Blair won the 400-meter dash with a time of 47.16 and sophomore Cameron Parker finished fourth in the 200-meter dash and finished fifth in the 100-meter. In the 1500-meter, Eric Battles had a personal best 3:54.09 to finish fourth overall and Paul Zwama finished third in the 5000-meter and Danny Vartanian placed fourth in the 5000-meter. Junior Emmanuel Jackson won the triple jump with a distance of 14.73 and Raul Gonzales won the hammer throw with a distance of 55.91. David Deal finished third in the decathlon with a score of 6682.
