FRESNO, Calif. - In its final regular season road trip of the season the Fresno State men's and women's track and field team will embark on one of its wilder weekends on its schedule prior to hosting the Bulldog Open on April 27. The 'Dogs have two meets scattered across three days beginning with the most prominent, the 55th annual Mt. SAC Relays that spans Thursday through Saturday while the second event, the Bryan Clay Invitational, is a one day event taking place Friday.

Both events will be held in the greater Los Angeles area as selected members of the teams will make their way to or between the Mt. SAC Relays at Hilmer Lodge Stadium in Walnut, Calif. and the Bryan Clay Invitational at Cougar Stadium in Azusa, Calif.

Day one will feature the distance team at the Mt. SAC relays. Saylah Barserian, Annemarie Schwanz and Megan Paracholski kick things off on Thursday at 1:30 p.m. with the 1500-meter run. Chriss Grimble will run the 1500m for the men at 2:30 p.m. while Kevin Poythress takes on the 3000m steeplechase at 3:30 p.m. The day concludes as Kristen Galvez and Danny Vartanian will run the first 10K for the 'Dogs this season, respectively. The women are set to start at 9:30 p.m. while the men's race is at 10:10 p.m.

On Friday the 'Dogs will be split between two stadiums approximately nine miles apart. The Bryan Clay Invitational opens at 9 a.m. with the women's pole vault. The invite runs through 6 p.m. but will wrap up for Fresno State after the triple jump slated to start at 3 p.m.

As for the continuation of the Mt. SAC relays, it will be the busiest day for the Bulldogs throughout the three day meet. The Field events will start with the men's hammer at 10 a.m. and closes with the women's hammer for the 'Dogs at 2 p.m. The running events start at 11:10 a.m. with the women's 4x100 team of Tanae Turner, Je'Nia Sears, Breeauna Thompson and Shakira Lewis and the day closes with Carina Mendoza running the 5000m at 11:10 p.m.

Saturday features Fresno State's marquee duo of Meagan McKee and Sears as they will compete in the shot put and long jump. Of all the entrants to the Mt. SAC relays, the top-10 individual marks from the last two seasons are selected to an Invite Elite competition on Saturday for their respective events.

Sears qualified for the Invite Elite Long Jump with her 6.24m jump at the UC Irvine Spring Break Invitational on March 23. Her mark currently sits in a tie for the 14th-best jump in the NCAA this season and is the all-time best jump recorded in Bulldog history. McKee was accepted to the Invite Elite Shot Put after recording a 16.18m throw at last season's Sacramento State MONDO Mid-Major Challenge on April 14, 2012. Her throw ranks No. 2 on the all-time school records list.
