FRESNO, Calif. - Freshman Devin Harrison of the Fresno State men's track and field team was named Fresno State Sysco Student-Athlete of the Week, the organization announced Monday. He became the first Bulldog in program history to be named Western Athletic Conference Men's Outdoor Track & Field Freshman of the Year after earning two gold and one silver medal at the Championships.

This is the first weekly award for the Laguna Niguel, Calif. native who helped Fresno State to a third place finish in the Championships with 137 points, the highest team total since 1995.

He also became the first Bulldog in 16 years to bring home the long jump title. His 7.28m mark earned him his first conference title and his first medal of the Championships.

Harrison picked up his second gold medal as the third leg of the men's 4x400m relay team that posted a season-best 3:13.32 time.

He also led off the second place 4x100m team that ran a season-best 40.96 seconds and finished just .08 seconds behind the leader.

The Bulldogs top performer in the long jump has also run the second fastest 200m time this year and has the third fastest 100m dash time on the team.

Harrison was one of three Bulldogs to earn three medals at the Championships.
