Track and Field Prepared For NCAA Regionals

Fresno State will send 16 athletes to participate in 17 events in the 2007 NCAA Western Regional in Eugene, Oregon this weekend. Hosted by the University of Oregon, the top finishers in this weekend's meet will move on to the NCAA Championships from June 6-9.
Here is a list of the 11 men and five women that will be competiing in this weekend's meet:
The first of two jumpers to qualify for the NCAA regionals ... qualified in a three-way dual against Stanford and UC Davis.
Makes his second regional appearance, having qualified in the discus as a sophomore ... just missed qualification as a freshman in the discus ... one of two putters to make the Regionals ... the first Fresno State athlete to qualify in three events ... the first to qualify in the discus as well.
A two-event qualifier, one of two for the Bulldogs ... easily passed the qualifying standard in Fresno State's home dual against Mt. SAC, CSUB and Sacramento CC, passing the mark by over 9 inches ... also a member of the team's 4x100 squad.
Qualified for the third consecutive year for the regionals ... two-time academic all-WAC ... personal best is 50.51, a school-record set at last year's NCAA Regionals ... also won the event at the WAC championships twice.
Extended Fresno State's tradition of winning the pole vault to five straight championships to qualify ... the Bulldogs have now won 10 of the last 11 WAC championships ... mark was a career-best for Pancotti.
Reaches the regionals for the first time .. top mark of the year came at the Cal-Nevada Championships, where his 17.71m throw placed second overall ... came very close to qualifying both as a freshman and as a sophomore.
Qualfies for the second straight year in his signature event ... bested his pr from 2006 to qualify in 2007, heaving a throw 59.07m at the four-way with Mt. SAC, CSUB and Sacramento CC.
Became the third Bulldog to qualify for the hammer throw, reaching the mark with a PR at the WAC Championships ... finished seventh in the event for the Bulldogs.
Charles Williams, Kellen Kennedy, Quentin O'Neal, Durran Moore
Set a personal best to qualify for Oregon in her first year as a Bulldog ... beat the mark by .5 seconds ... previously a junior college state champion at Mt. San Antonio College.
The first of two vaulters to qualify for the NCAA regionals ... qualified in a three-way dual against Stanford and UC Davis, passing the mark for the first time there ... became just the third woman in Fresno State history to clear 13-feet, beating the mark against UC Davis in a dual meet.
A two-time All-American, Webb will make her fourth appearance at the NCAA Regionals in the javelin ... earned All-American honors as a freshman and as a junior last season ... finished second in the javelin at the NCAA Regional last season ... Cal Nevada Champion in the jav, throwing a season best 51.53m.
A dual event qualifier for the second straight year ... reached the NCAA championships in both events as a junior in 2006 ... holds the team's high mark in the shot put and hammer as well ... winner of the discus throw at the Cal-Nevada Championships.
