FRESNO, Calif. - The Fresno State track and field program has announced the dates for this summer's camps. They will be open to kids aged 10-18 and will be held at Warmerdam Field on the campus of Fresno State as well as a mini camp at Caruthers High School.
Assistant coaches Chris Baptista and Lisa Misipeka will run the camps. The first camp will be Jumps and Throws held on June 23-25 at Warmerdam Field. On June 25-26, there will be a Speed Mini Camp held at Caruthers High. After a two week break, the coaches will host the Sprints/Hurdles and Throws camp on July 7-9. The second Speed Mini Camp will be held July 9-10 at Warmerdam Field.
The camps have been designed to allow each participant to gain elite instruction to help enhance and improve their performance and overall athletic development. The coaches will also provide information that will help increase each individual's knowledge of the sport. During the camps, there will be sessions on the track, as well as lectures in the classroom and in the strength and conditioning center.
Each of the track and field camps will feature 18 hours of instruction over a three-day span. The campers will be provided with a lunch and a camp notebook. The two mini camps will provide the participants with six hours of training over a two-day time period and they will also be provided with a camp notebook.
