Position:
Assistant Coach

Joining the Fresno State Bulldog coaching staff is first-year assistant Laura Berg. Berg, who was a four-time NCAA All-American as well as being a two-time USA Softball Olympian, will serve as a second assistant to Wright. A native of Sante Fe Springs, Calif., Berg’s stellar career at Fresno State was highlighted by a NCAA Championship title in 1998. Finishing No. 2 all-time in NCAA history in career hits she was a member of three NCAA Regional championship teams and two Western Athletic Conference title squads. As the only Fresno State softball player to record three straight 100-hit seasons, Berg finished with a .414 career batting average while also ranking among the NCAA’s best in at bats, runs and triples. With her name dotted throughout the school’s and the WAC’s annals, Berg is the only player at Fresno State to amass 300 or more career hits and posted a 160-game defensive errorless streak. In addition, she is the conference’s all-time leader in triples, runs, hits, at bats, games played and total bases. Berg received her bachelor’s degree in commercial recreation from Fresno State in 1998.
