'Dogs Complete Season's First Test

    DAVIS, Calif. - The men's and women's cross country teams each raced to third-place finishes at the Aggie Open Friday night, hosted by UC Davis.

    The Bulldogs' Danny Vartanian led the way for the men, finishing in fifth-place with a time of 18:23.9 in the 6K event. Meanwhile, Olivier Bernard finished sixth at 18:33.4 for back-to-back finishes for the 'Dogs.  

    The men walked away from the evening with 55 points, trailing event winner Sacramento State by 20 points.

    In the women's 4K race, Saylah Barserian paced the 'Dogs with a time of 14:42.2, which placed her 15th overall individually. Megan Paracholski followed Barserian across the finish line for a 16th-place finish, with a time of 14:47.4. 

    The women's team completed the evening with 64 points.

    Fresno State will next compete at the Hornet Jamboree, Sept. 8, hosted by Sacramento State.
