Etherton Paces 'Dogs To First-Place

    FRESNO, Calif. – The Fresno State women’s cross country team took first-place, while the men’s team finished second overall at the Hornet Jamboree hosted by Sacramento State.

    Sophomore Lyndsie Etherton took first place and had the second fastest time in Bulldog history for a 5k with a time of 17:13.

    For the men, Danny Vartanian led the pack for the ’Dogs for the second consecutive week with a seventh-place finish with a time of 19:56.1, while Olivier Bernard trailed just a step behind. Bernard finished eighth overall with a time of 19:56.2.

    Next up for the Bulldog cross country team is the Sundodger Invitational, hosted by the University of Washington, Sept. 15.
