FRESNO, Calif. ---The Fresno State cross country team will be hosting the 2012 Fresno State Watermelon Run presented by Sierra Running Company on Saturday, August 18 on the campus of Fresno State. There will be two races, the first of which will be a two mile race that will begin at 8:00 a.m., and the second will be a four mile race that will begin at 8:40 a.m.

"We're excited to once again host the Watermelon Run on the Fresno State campus," said head coach Sean McManus. "It is a fun way for runners of all ages and abilities to kick off the fall and is an opportunity to gauge our preseason fitness before we get into the more serious races in the month of September."

The race will begin and end at Fresno State's North Gym which is located on Barstow Avenue, just east of Cedar Avenue. Parking will be available in Lot Q.

The race course is a flat and fast two mile loop through the Fresno State campus and will provide a great way for the community to become actively involved with Fresno State Athletics.
