COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. - Fresno State junior Olivier Bernard and sophomore Lyndsie Etherton have earned Mountain West Men's and Women's Cross Country Athlete of the Week honors, respectively, for races contested from Sept. 10-16, 2012. It is the second consecutive week that Etherton has earned the honor and first Mountain West career honor for Bernard.
Bernard, a native of Laval, Quebec, Canada, placed sixth at the Sundodger Invitational in Seattle, Wash. He ran the 8-kilometer course in a career-best time of 24:14.53, the top time at that distance in the MW this season. The Bulldogs finished second as a team.
A Fresno, Calif., native, Etherton placed fourth at the Sundodger Invitational. She ran a time of 20:58.34 over the 6-kilometer race, a Fresno State record at that distance.
