FRESNO, Calif. - Fresno State cross country has double the opportunity for success this weekend. With two invitationals scheduled during the same weekend, the women's team will take off to Bakersfield, Calif. and the top seven men and women will head to Palo Alto, Calif. The Stanford Invitational in Palo Alto, Calif. is a great opportunity for the team to compete against some of the best schools in California.

"This is a really busy weekend for our cross country programs. We have the top 7 men and women headed to Stanford for the Stanford Invitational, which is one of the top meets in California. This will be our first meet of the season of this size and caliber, so we are really excited to go up against the best schools in California and show what we can do. This same course will serve as the site of the NCAA Regionals so we are also looking forward to exposing our kids to the course so they know what to expect in November at the championships," said head coach Sean McManus.

The Roadrunner Invitational in Bakersfield, Calif. is a chance for the women's team to grow stronger and to compete.

"The balance of our women's team will compete at the Roadrunner Invitational at CSUB. This is a flat and fast course that always provides fast racing and great times. It is a good opportunity for those kids to earn a spot on the starting line for the next several meets, including the WAC Championships," McManus said.
