Erick Garcia Named the Toyota/gobulldogs.com Athlete of the Week
    Garcia was outstanding at the Pepperdine Invitational last weekend, winning the men¹s 8K title with a time of 24:25.

    Fresno State freshman Erick Garcia has been named the Toyota/gobulldogs.com Athlete of the Week for the week of September 24.

    Garcia was outstanding at the Pepperdine Invitational last weekend, winning the men¹s 8K title with a time of 24:25. He beat UCLA¹s Evan Watchempino by a second to earn the first collegiate victory of his career. Garcia posted his second-straight sub 25-minute mark of the season after placing second in last week¹s Hornett Jamboree. On Saturday, Garcia led Fresno State to a fourth place finish out of 10 teams. Garcia has been Fresno State¹s top runner in all three of the team¹s regular season races.

    Other student-athletes nominated: Laura Luethke (women's golf), Alisha McKee (volleyball), Marissa McPhail (women's cross country), Anastasia Petukhova (women's tennis), and Matt Ryan (men's Golf).
