Men's Cross Country Captures First, Women Third at San Francisco State Invitational

FRESNO, Calif. - The Fresno State men's cross country team captured first place at the San Francisco State Invitational on Saturday, October 7th. The women took third at the same invitational.
Sophomore Josh Roddy was the top finisher in the meet, completing the 8,000 meter race in 26:25. Also finishing in the top ten for the Bulldogs were sophomores Phil Ogilvie (5th, 27:01) and Robert Vaca (6th, 27:05). The men's team scored 36 points wile second place Sacramento State had 50.
The women finished third with 80 points, behind first place Chico State and runner-up Sonoma State. Senor Brianna Denley was Fresno State's top finisher. Denley finished 12th, posting a time of 23:28. Freshman Kara June and sophomore Michelle June finished 14th and 15th respectively. Junior Rachel Bauer took 23rd with a time of 24:14.
Both squads will be back in action next Saturday, October 14th at the Cal Poly Invitational in San Luis Obispo.
