FRESNO, Calif. - The Fresno State cross country team returns to action on Saturday, October 19 as they travel to the Bay Area to compete in the 8th annual Santa Clara Bronco Invitational. The men will run at 9 a.m. and the women will follow at 9:45 a.m.

The races will take place at Baylands Park in Sunnyvale, Calif., and the men will run an 8K and the women will run a 6K. Those will also be the distances for the Mountain West Championship races in two weeks in Colorado Springs Colo., at the Air Force Academy.

Sophomore Annemarie Schwanz will be going for her fourth straight top-ten finish when and the rest of the women's team goes up against a field of 224 runners. In her last race at the NCAA Inter-Region Jamboree, Schwanz set a new school-record in the 5K and placed ninth.

The men will be looking to continue their strong team performances. At the Inter-Region event in Sacramento, the top-four men finished within 40 seconds of each other and this week the men will be trying to get that fifth runner up near the group as they prepare for the MW Championships.

The predicted high temperature on Saturday in Sunnyvale is 79 with a low of 51 and nothing but sunshine. At race time, temperatures should be in the upper 50's to lower 60's.
