HIGH SCHOOL: A three-year baseball letterwinner at Los Altos High School, where he helped lead the team to a 22-8 record as a senior ... named DeAnza League Most Valuable Player and second-team all-state as a senior ... a two-time first-team All-Central Coast Section honoree and two-time second-team all-state honoree as a senior and junior ... in 2012, he posted a .360 batting average with eight home runs and 30 RBI at the plate, and a 1.50 earned run average with 104 strikeouts over 69 innings as a pitcher ... in 2011, he posted a .410 batting average with six home runs and 35 RBI, and a 1.66 earned run average with 88 strikeouts over 84 innings.
