The current Bulldogs won 9-3. Ryan Overland enters his first season as an assistant coach and fifth as a Division I coach. Overland, who served as the Bulldogs' volunteer assistant coach in 2012 and intern in 2011, most recently coached this past fall at Nevada as a full-time assistant coach. He was the hitting and catching coach at South Dakota State University (2009-10) before coming to Fresno State. Overland helped lead the Jackrabbits to regular season Summit League Championship in 2010 after finishing the season with a 39-21 mark. Under Overland, the Jackrabbits were first in the league in batting average (.350) in 2010 and set new school records in team hits, runs scored, doubles and wins. Eight all-league student-athletes were produced under him. He earned at Master's in Health, Physical Educations and Recreation while at South Dakota State. A former Fresno State player, Overland was a catcher on the 2008 National Championship team. In his career as a Bulldog, he played in over 180 games, won three WAC Championships and a National Championship. Overland earned his Bachelor's degree in Communications Studies from Fresno State in 2008. |
