Head Coach Mike Batesole
I think we played hard and we got beat by a really, really good team. We made some average pitches, we made some poor pitches and we even made a few pitches this game and they hit them all. I mean, the best offense in the country averaging 9.6 runs a game, they're going to have days like this. They had one today against us and one of our better pitchers in Cody Kendall is our Saturday starter and they got to him pretty good.
I like the way our pitching is set up. Tom has been throwing the ball real well. And our bullpen is intact. [Taylor Garrison] hasn't thrown yet, so he'll be able to go six outs tomorrow and [Justin Haley] will be back. We haven't used [Tyler Stirewalt] yet, so on the mound, we're in pretty good shape. We have got to play some better defense. We made another key error again tonight, which I don't like. Our left side infield has got to get better and they will as we get through this. We've got a freshman over there and [Justin Charles] has never played third base before, he's a second baseman. So learning that side of the field and learning that throw, there's going to be some growing pains and we had another one today.
