FRESNO, Calif. - Fresno State fell to UC Riverside 5-1 Friday night at Pete Beiden Field. This was the first Friday night loss the Bulldogs (12-10) have had this season. They are 5-1 in series openers at home.

"[UC Riverside's] offense just hit the balls where we weren't," said Wynns of the loss. "And their pitcher, we tip our hats to him, he kept us off balance."
The Highlander's starter Dylan Stuart pitched a complete game giving up just one run off six hits.
With two outs and runners on first and second, Vince Gonzalez reached on an error to load the bases. The next batter singled to short, scoring a run and starting the Highlanders rally. The Bulldogs caught Cody Hough trying to grab an extra base to get out of the inning, but not before four runs came across for UC Riverside.
Junior Daniel Moultrie came in to pinch hit for the 'Dogs in the bottom of the eighth inning and led off with a double to left center. He advanced to third on a ground out to second by the next batter and was knocked in by freshman Chris Mariscal to end the shutout.
