SACRAMENTO --- The Fresno State baseball team rallied for a gritty 3-2 win over the Sacramento State Hornets on Tuesday night at Raley Field.

The Bulldogs used eight pitchers in the midweek match-up with Fresno State reliever Jordan Brink retiring all six Hornets he faced in the eighth and ninth innings to earn his first win of the season.

Fresno State's Aaron Judge posted two hits and senior Trent Garrison scored the game-winning run from second base on a fielding error by Sacramento State shortstop Scotty Burcham in the top of the ninth.

"It's not that much different than it has been all year," Fresno State head coach Mike Batesole said. "We are hitting the ball hard and playing really hard. We are taking a lot better two-strike at bats over the past two or three weeks... Maybe a game like this turns it."

The Hornets opened the scoring with two runs in the bottom of the third, but the Bulldogs' bullpen held Sac State scoreless over the last six innings of the game.

The Bulldogs tied the game at 2-2 in the sixth before Garrison sprinted home for the game-winner in the ninth.

Fresno State (5-16, 1-3 Mountain West) will now head to play at Nevada (15-10, 3-3 MW) for a three-game conference series that starts Thursday in Reno.
